One of the basic parameters for a team's success is its philosophy. In this the director can influence, but like everything that is done in teams, we need the contribution of each member.
A good way to start the day is giving thanks for what we have. We are really fortunate to be working about as we like, and be surrounded by a fantastic group of professionals who can learn continuously.
The question I ask myself every day is:
How I can help to improve this site?
That is a process that never ends. Always looking to improve. In this sense, we detected a series of parameters that contribute to improving the work environment, and therefore the results obtained. Namely:
Confidence: this is not something that is given, this is something that is earned day by day thanks to the accountability and professionalism demonstrated. If any team member who does not enjoy the confidence of others, the team has a weakness.
personal triumph: I hope everyone will succeed, because success of each person, is in the good of the group. We need people with hunger and desire to improve, but without losing sight of the success of the group is above the individual.
Honesty Transparency Policy total. Everyone is aware of what is charged for each project, the hours are budgeted for, and what money is in arrears. It's about being honest with yourself, and companion.
Recognition and reward: We have to thank and celebrate individual achievement, because they add to the collective objectives.
Respect: There are some professionals who deserve respect, but all people should be respected as such, but do not deserve to be respected as professionals. Therefore the staff must be respected above all. The forms are important. The bad ways are you losing your mind immediately. There is nothing you can say with courtesy and respect.
Communication: You have to be open to criticism. It is the only way to improve, and be aware of our shortcomings. Not only talk about our lives at work, but our personal lives. Open to others is a good exercise that affects the good atmosphere. I know what my colleagues are interested, do they care (family, hobbies, goals ...). Obviously, respect those who do not want to open your life to the rest (we return to the previous paragraph: respect.) My challenge here is to listen more and talk less.
Dialogue: We do not impose our views to assert our rank or position. Care about the arguments here.
Flexibility: As stated previously, we have "confidence." The trust responsibility and professionalism of other colleagues, we can be flexible. We are people, not a working number.
If you want to go deeper into this philosophy, Ubuntu can read the book by Stephen Lundin and Bob Nelson. It is a fable about African philosophy of teamwork based on the concept of brotherhood, and is fully in line with our philosophy.
